There is something incredibly romantic about London at this time of year.. I love the clothes, the yummy 'hearty' food, the delicious red wines... But on the down side.. I'M FREEZING and hats look stupid on my pea head!.

Helloooo...

I have been some what of a happy nomad recently having been on development and sourcing trips over the last month to Paris, Egypt, Istanbul & Italy.. Such a wealth of inspiration in each country... I definitely need more eyeliner in my life!

I have had such a great time as always, saying farewell to some very special people and hello to some new ones! Thank you to all my friends that make the journey so enjoyable. xx

Out of the race!

So.. Last week I took myself out of the race! How scary, yet thankfully exhilarating!

The fashion world in running at formula one speeds, we have no chance for a pit stop in London retail let alone a tea break. There is a constant need for MORE, not only in the expectations of ourselves, our jobs, our lives, but in the personal need for everything... Bigger house, Latest apple anything, Newest bag, Amazingly exotic holidays, Better Boyfriends! Londoners have a big hole that needs filling but never seems full.. Its soooo depressing! No wonder so many of us are giving up and heading to India to make our preferred modest fortune teaching Yoga to other burnt out Londoners.

Actually, I am not going to be a Yoga teacher, although that sounds like a fantastic job.. I will in fact be setting up my own small something. Hidden in a little denim bubble which always makes me happy! But I will take a few positive thoughts with me in my next adventure now I have finally broken the cycle...

Be Happy and mindful of what you have and how much you have achieved. Lets curb our greedy souls, kill the green eyed monster and start living the lives we have not the ones we want. You only live once remember, cheesy but true!

As for my future, its a big 'watch this space' I guess..? I am mostly all smiles this week but as a clever man once said-   'I have no special talent. Just passionately curious'.

Lazy days & Sundays..

           Not standing up today.. toooooo tired!

P.O.B (post olympic bluesssss)

First day without the Olympics... I'm suffering! The fact that its Monday is not helping matters either. Don't get me wrong, I am not usually the sporty type, but suddenly I have this profound knowledge of the scoring rules in the synchronized swimming and I really want to go get myself a matching top/bottom tracksuit combo!! Oh yes..

I am even tempted.. to start training for RIO! I really want to be one of those twisting flipping beautiful high divers.. They were magnificent!!.. I do have a slight phobia of heights to conquer, not to mention I still actually hold my nose under water. Hmm tricksy?? But like my Mum used to say...

I heart my job!.. F.A.C.T! Some weeks are a real pleasure, it should not be called 'work' when you have so much fun..
I was invited by Isko (one of my favorite denim mills) to attend a geeky 'wash' seminar last week in beautiful Venice! We had amazingly sunny happy weather, yummy Italian food, great denim nerd company and the 'Creative Rooms' showroom to inspire us all...

Temple of Denim

Sorry for the delay folks, I was in Berlin last week for Bread & Butter, one of the biggest trade fairs in Europe exhibiting all things street & cool. Disappointingly a few of the denim giants were not showing this time and the brands that were seemed to be playing it safe this season. My few highlights were the beautifully styled 'Denim Religion' show that popped up while I was eating my lunch! Check it out...

A side line of the Temple of denim was The Laboratoria, an actual working Denim lab.. A fantastic team including the lovely Alberto from Candiani set up the workshop to produce on the spot jeans customized with the buyers choice of denim/wash/threads/trims all personally customized! Amazing experience made even better as all proceeds went to a nonprofit charity that helps young adults with mental disabilities find employment.

And finally of course, the shops of Berlin! Great denim geek stores such as 14oz, Burg & Schild were both mobbed! Vintage is getting better in Berlin too with my favorite Paul's boutique, stacked with amazing old school jeans (I bought my Dad a beautiful pair of Selvedge!)..

Off to Italy in a few days for a washing seminar, sponsored by the Isko power house! Lucky me...
